This site has been set up in memory of Hayley Owen, who was 23 years old at the time she died, on the 4th December 2004, she lived in worthing, west sussex.
She was a loving mother to her little boy kieran who she doted on. He was aged 2 at the time of her death. Hayley left behind, 2 sisters, Carla and Rachel, 1 brother, Liam and 1 half brother, Billy, amongst many friends. Also her mother, Cynthia and her father, Tim.
Hayley was on another crazy drunken night out on the night of her death, she had gone to Thursdays nightclub in Chichester with a minibus full of friends, after many WKD blues, Vodka redbulls, and shots of many, she became rather drunk and had to have a rest on the bench outside, her friends decided it was then time to make their way back to worthing, Hayley being Hayley decided to go on her own mini adventure and took the turning into a near by field and surprisingly managed to find the road home after abandoning her shoes in the field and her friends up the road. Whilst feeling chuffed she had made it there first she decided it was perfect timing for a rest, so she took up refuge on the side of the road, in the distance one of Hayleys friends saw the flickering lights of a car approaching, as Hayleys vision wasn't quite up to scratch due to the HUGH consumption of alcohol, she failed to see the headlights of the oncoming car, after hearing the shouts from her friend "move theres a car coming" Hayley stood up and as she had that wobbly head that we are all too aware of after a night on the razz she lost her co-ordination, stumbled on the cattle grid of the railway crossing, lost her footing and unfortunately ended up on the live rail. Hayley died instantly, without suffering any pain.
Hayley meant a lot to everyone who came into contact with her, she managed to touch the lives of so many people in her 23 years of life, as we were able to see from the 100's of sympathy cards we recieved and the 400 people that turned up to say their final goodbyes to such a fun loving girl at her funeral.
Hayley was always up for a laugh, she could never stay away from her friends and prefered to be around people rather then alone. She had a very up beat, bubbly nature and never seemed to have many down moments in life as she almost always managed to see the good side of things, failing that she would turn it into a joke or walk away and leave it for another day!
